DOL Issues PEP RFI, Interpretive Guidance

The Department of Labor (DOL) has released guidance and a public request for information (RFI) titled “Pooled Employer Plans: Big Plans for Small Businesses”. According to the DOL news release, the RFI provides interpretive guidance about an employer’s responsibilities when joining a PEP and solicits information about prevailing market practices related to PEPs which could serve as the basis for a future regulatory safe harbor that would further encourage employers to join PEPs. 

Comments must be received no later than 60 days after publication in the Federal Register.
